Columbus police: 6-year-old girl recovering after accidental shooting near Weinland Park
A 6-year-old girl is expected to recover after Columbus police said she accidentally shot herself Sunday inside a home on North Sixth Street near Weinland Park. A family member said the girl was visiting relatives when she unintentionally shot herself with an unattended gun. The family member said the little girl accidentally shot herself in the leg. Columbus police said several juveniles were inside the home at the time, and one ran from the house after the gunfire. Investigators said they tracked down and talked to the juvenile who fled and plan to meet with juvenile prosecutors to determine whether charges could be filed against that person.
