A man is in critical condition after a shooting midday in Columbus. Columbus Police said patrol officers responded around 12:15 p.m. on Sept. 17 to the 2700 block of East 5th Ave. for a possible shooting. Officers found a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound and took him to a hospital where he remains in critical condition. Investigators identified Clifton Deshawn Battle Jr., a 30-year-old man, as the suspect.
