Convicted ex-NFL star moved to transitional housing as community trustee

Convicted former NFL receiver Henry Ruggs was transferred earlier this month to a minimum-custody transitional housing facility in Reno. KTNV reported Thursday the former Raiders and University of Alabama wide receiver was deemed a community trustee, meaning he’s considered a lower risk for breaking rules or potential escape. According to the report, Ruggs was transferred to a Northern Nevada Transitional Housing, which also allows for a more laxed work release program. He was previously being held at Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. In May, the former Crimson Tide star appealed to the Nevada Board of Parole to grant him “ the privilege of parole so I can prove myself to everyone .” Ruggs was sentenced to from 36 to 120 months in prison on Aug.
