The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the man shot to death inside a car near the Universal Furniture store in the West Lake Forest neighborhood last week. Brian Westbrook, 29, was one of two passengers inside a vehicle when gunfire rang out in the 5700 block of Crowder Boulevard on Aug. Westbrook was found inside the car, which had crashed into an outbuilding in the furniture store’s parking lot. He was declared dead on scene. The second victim was not injured in the shooting.
