Could the executive order signed by President Trump Monday lower diesel costs ahead of midterms?
WMUR reports: President Donald Trump signed an executive order during a rally in Nebraska on Monday to ease limits on red-dyed diesel, aiming to lower diesel prices ahead of the midterm elections. "The typical trucker will save over $100 every time they fill up. So, it's more than $100 each time and farmers will also save millions and millions of dollars," Trump said. Petroleum analyst Patrick De Haan at GasBuddy cautioned that the executive order may not necessarily lower diesel prices, arguing that supply issues, not taxes, are driving high fuel costs.
