Couple barely escaped burning Middletown railroad depot that was their home
Source Scout · PennLive / The Patriot-News reports: A Dauphin County couple was inside their home, a former train station in Middletown, when they lost power on Friday. While trying to figure out why, the 84-year-old man who lived there with his wife saw a small fire near their bedroom. Suddenly, the circuit box exploded around 2:40 p.m., and flames shot into the air, quickly spreading throughout the building at 39 Wilson St. “In a matter of seconds, everything changed,” their daughter wrote in a GoFundMe . “The smoke became so thick it was nearly impossible to see.” The man escaped the fire, but went back twice to try to save his wife, who has mobility issues.
