A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in a drive-by shooting in New Haven in 2023 that left one person dead. Joseph Dominick, 21, of New Haven was sentenced Wednesday in New Haven Superior Court in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Shaquille Chazz Pearson of New Haven, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice . Judge Tracy Lee Dayton sentenced Dominick to 40 years in prison, suspended after service of 30 years, and five years of probation, DCJ officials said. On July 13, Dominick pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter with a firearm under the terms of a plea bargain he accepted.
