CT man who bludgeoned wife to death in 2021 gets 55 years in prison

A man who bludgeoned his wife to death with an ax and a claw hammer during an argument in her Guilford condo in 2021 has been sentenced to 55 years in prison. Robert Faison, 49, faced sentencing on Wednesday in New Haven Superior Court in connection with the slaying of 42-year-old Lindsey Hopkins, according to the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice . Hopkins’ daughter spoke before the court during sentencing, saying she believes he has shown “no remorse and no regret” for her mother’s killing, a news release from the DCJ said. “I have a now child now,” the daughter said. “My child will never get to know his grandmother, nor will my mother get to know her grandchild. I want to thank all the authorities who dedicated themselves to obtaining justice for my mother.” Faison was convicted in connection with Hopkins’ death after he stood trial before a three-judge panel in June. Following the four-day trial, he was found guilty of murder.
