'Dangerous' Luton man who stabbed and shot friend is jailed
A man who stabbed his friend six times, before shooting him at point-blank range in the back and fleeing, has been jailed. Callun Bermingham, 37, launched the "ferocious and sustained" attack on 25 March 2025, leaving his friend with life-threatening injuries, Luton Crown Court heard. He had been consuming drugs and alcohol with the victim before returning to Repton Close, Luton, where a fight broke out the next morning. Bermingham, of Belmont Road, also in Luton, pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm on 5 May. He was sentenced to 11 years and six months in jail on Wednesday.
