DCI investigating deadly officer-involved shooting in Iowa City
Two Iowa City police officers shot and killed a person armed with a knife Tuesday evening, a police press release says. The shooting happening after 5:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Southgate Avenue. Police say they received a call about a person armed with a knife threatening others. Officers on scene say they saw the person holding a knife making threatening statements and gestures. The press release says during the encounter, two uniformed officers fired their weapons.
