Death toll following Russian attack on Ukraine’s Kyiv region rises to 37

Zelenskyy says a warehouse was struck outside Kyiv, ‘followed by a detonation’, causing a major fire and explosions. At least 37 people have been killed after an overnight Russian attack on a warehouse in the Bucha district, outside the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, officials said. “Unfortunately, the number of dead in the Bucha district has risen to 37… Rescuers and all relevant services are continuing their operations at the scene of the tragedy,” Kyiv region governor Tymur Tkachenko said on Telegram on Saturday. Among the dead was Taras Didych, mayor of the village of Dmytrivska, Tkachenko said. A Russian drone struck a warehouse in the town of Myla, near Kyiv’s western suburbs, which stored munitions, sparking huge explosions, authorities said on Saturday. Tymur Tkachenko, head of the local regional military administration, said that at least 50 residential buildings had been damaged in the attack, which caused a large-scale fire that spread to homes and a restaurant.
