Deputies: NC woman being held without bond after domestic incident ends in shooting
MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. (FOX Carolina) - The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office said a man is dead and his girlfriend is being held without bond after a domestic violence incident turned deadly. Deputies said 49-year-old Jessica Martin Blackburn, of Old Fort, has been charged with felony murder after her boyfriend died from a gunshot wound. Deputies identified the boyfriend as 41-year-old Eric Jerome Ward, also of Old Fort. McDowell County Communications received a call around 4 p.m. Friday from a relative of Blackburn reporting that someone had been shot at a home on Lackey Town Road.
