Detroit man charged in road rage shooting following MSP investigation

A weeks-long investigation into a shooting on the Southfield Freeway during an alleged road rage incident last month has led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Detroit man. Michigan State Police shut down the southbound lanes of M-39 from Plymouth Road to Joy Road near I-96 in Detroit for several hours on Aug. 25 to investigate the reported shooting and search the area for evidence. During the investigation, police determined that a road rage incident had escalated, resulting in the suspect allegedly pulling out a pistol and firing one shot into another driver’s vehicle. The victim suffered minor injuries from glass and bullet fragments, police said.
