District: 11-year-old Millwood student dies after collapsing during football practice

Millwood Public Schools officials confirmed that a fifth-grade student died after collapsing during a football practice on Thursday. Around 4:30 p.m., an 11-year-old student collapsed on the track field during football practice. District officials said in a statement that the coaching staff immediately started CPR and contacted emergency services. The student was taken to an area hospital, where he died. Millwood Public Schools officials identified the student as Jaheir Booker. "The Millwood family is heartbroken to share news of a devastating loss within our district," the district said in the statement. "Jaheir was a cherished member of our school community since the age of four, and his siblings remain in our district.
