(KRON) -- Two juveniles who allegedly shot at the driver of a passing car in San Rafael Tuesday evening were taken into custody after a drone spotted them running from the scene, police said. The San Rafael Police Department responded to the shooting around 7:49 p.m. in the 500 block of Irwin Street. One of the department’s drones arrived in the sky within minutes of 911 calls, according to authorities, and began searching for the suspects. The drone’s operator picked up on the suspects running on Anderson Drive and relayed the information to police officers on the ground.

The victim of the shooting, who was uninjured, told officers that they were driving down Irwin Street when the suspects opened fire at them. “At this time, it is unclear why the suspects began shooting at the victim,” San Rafael PD wrote.
