The National Weather Service in State College confirmed on Friday night that a tornado touched down in Lancaster County on Tuesday. The EF1 tornado touched down at 11:44 p.m. in Salisbury Township northwest of the intersection of Mount Vernon Road and Old Philadelphia Pike with a width of 100 yards. The National Weather Service said the tornado ripped the roof off a barn and damaged sections of roof on three farm outbuildings. It also uprooted trees, tore the roof off a one-room schoolhouse, and bent a telephone pole. The estimated peak wind was 90 mph.
