San Francisco Giants broadcaster Duane Kuiper revealed he was diagnosed with throat cancer and began undergoing treatment earlier this month. Kuiper, 76, shared the news in a social media post from the Giants. He said the cancer was unrelated to cancer he had in 2021 and he was “optimistic that it will be successfully treated.” He is undergoing treatment at Stanford Medicine in Palo Alto, California. “I’m remarkably grateful for the care I’m receiving and for the tremendous support from my family, the Giants organization, my broadcast partners and so many others,” Kuiper stated. Kuiper missed the Giants’ series at the Los Angeles Angels this past weekend, but plans to return to the broadcast booth Tuesday at home against the Minnesota Twins.
