A 25-year-old woman is in custody after filing a false police report that her child had been abducted, prompting an Amber Alert in Missouri and a statewide search in the process. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said the woman called authorities on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 9, claiming her Dodge Charger had been stolen with her 1-year-old child still inside. But after the AMBER Alert was issued, police said the suspect called 911 and told dispatchers there was no child in his car and that he intended to surrender to police. Charles City Police found the Charger and suspect shortly after, but the child wasn't present.
