Family pay tribute to girl, nine, who died on camping trip in Scotland as man is charged

Minnie Merriman was found injured on industrial estate in Arbroath on Monday and a man has appeared in court A girl of nine who died on a family camping trip in Scotland has been named as Minnie Merriman. In a statement released through Police Scotland, her family said: “We are devastated with the loss of our beloved, absolutely incredible, beautiful and brave Minnie Moo. Our family asks that our privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time.” Christopher Rice, 35, was charged with murder in relation to her death when he appeared at Forfar sheriff court on Wednesday. He did not enter a plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody. Minnie, from West Yorkshire, was found seriously injured just after midnight on Monday at the Elliot industrial estate in Arbroath, Angus.
