Family remembers devastating Washington Terrace tornado ten years later

WASHINGTON TERRACE, Utah (KUTV) — Ten years after a tornado destroyed their Washington Terrace home, a Weber County family says the disaster changed far more than where they lived. For Gaelynn Sewell, memories of Sept. 22, 2016, remain vivid. “I was just standing in the hall and all of a sudden every window in the house broke out,” Sewell recalled. The tornado tore through parts of Riverdale, Washington Terrace and South Ogden that afternoon, cutting a path nearly three miles long.
