Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting outside a Wawa convenience store in Toms River on Friday morning. The shooting occurred around 7:20 a.m. in the parking lot of the Wawa at Route 37 and Garfield Avenue, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. The victim was shot inside a truck, and the suspect fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan, News12 reported. The investigation is being conducted by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, the Toms River Township Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
