Houston police detained a possible suspect on Thursday evening hours after he allegedly walked up to a driver and fired several shots into a vehicle on the far east side of The Heights. The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. in the 700 block of Cottage Street. A man who investigators described to be between 25-30 years old was found shot to death in a crashed out Honda Civic that ended up on the curb at Cottage and Archer. By 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, Houston police announced a possible suspect, who previously had only been described as a pedestrian with dark hair, had been detained near 400 Walton Street, only a few blocks away. Police tell KPRC 2 News surveillance video captured the suspect getting in or out of a vehicle after he ran away from the scene.
