A large vegetation fire shut down Interstate 80 in the Floriston area of Nevada County, also prompting nearby evacuation warnings. AlertCalifornia cameras detected a plume of smoke around 10:30 a.m., but California Highway Patrol traffic logs indicate the Floriston Fire was reported around 10 a.m. As of 11:45 a.m., the plume of smoke remains large.
