A 66-year-old man was wounded Saturday after accidentally shooting himself at an indoor shooting range in Union County, authorities said. The man was firing a handgun at the RTSP Shooting Range in the 2400 block of Route 22 in Union Township when he suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, according to Deputy Police Chief Barry Cohen. “This was an accidental discharge due to a shell casing being ejected from a handgun and falling inside (the man’s) shirt,” Cohen said. Cohen said the hot casing could be felt against the man’s chest as he tried to holster the weapon, causing him to squeeze the trigger again.
