Garfield residents relieved after manhunt ends with arrest

GARFIELD, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Residents in Garfield can rest easy tonight after authorities captured a man accused of assaulting an Arkansas State Trooper. The manhunt began late last night and ended this afternoon. Residents in the Garfield area said they were relieved after learning authorities had apprehended a 20-year-old man who is accused of attacking an Arkansas State Trooper and fleeing for several hours. Authorities have yet to share the suspect's name. Terry Reeves, who has lived in Garfield for 50 years, said he never expected to experience a manhunt so close to home. "We didn't really know what to do except stay locked up in the house," Reeves said.
