GREAT BARRINGTON ― Westfield football took on Monument Mountain Friday night in Great Barrington, and the Bombers completed the road trip in style with a a 40-8 victory, powered by precision play from both the offense and defense. Westfield started the night with a dominant first possession. Quarterback Aiden Purdy threw a clean 15-yard pass to receiver David Berdecia, who took a 20-yard stride of his own upfield to put the Bombers in perfect scoring position. Adrian Colon took the scoring run, finding the gaps created by his line to secure a 10-yard touchdown at just the 11:32 minute mark. “I loved that opening from the line; it was beautiful,” Colon said. “Especially my receiver, David Berdecia, he really set the tone right at the edge, so that I was able to get in the end zone.” Westfield took a 7-0 lead, after the extra point kick from Evan Paradise.
