A 25-year-old Gonzales Middle School teacher was arrested Tuesday in connection with a shooting in Donaldsonville that left two men injured, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. Kyle Delaney, of Gonzales, was arrested after deputies responded to a reported shooting at about 5:30 p.m. Vincent Street in Donaldsonville. Ascension Public Schools named Delaney as New Teacher of the Year for Gonzales Middle in 2024. Deputies found that one man sustained a single gunshot wound, while the other sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
