Greensboro's Royal Banquet Hall ordered to cease operations after joint safety review
The Royal Banquet Hall, where nine people were injured in a mass shooting over the weekend, has been ordered closed following a safety inspection requested by the Greensboro Police Department. City officials said the business at 3821 W. Gate City Blvd. is not permitted to reopen after inspectors identified multiple code violations during a joint safety review. The inspection included representatives from the Greensboro Police Department, North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, the city's Building Inspections Division, electrical inspectors and the Greensboro Fire Department. Officials said business owner Van Thanh Ly voluntarily surrendered the business's ABC permit during Monday's inspection.
