Group uses baseball bat to beat up man they believed was a thief in Arlington

A man was taken to the hospital after he was beaten up with a baseball bat by a group who believed he was a thief, officials said. According to the Arlington County Police Department, police were dispatched to the area of the Four Mile Run Trail entrance at S. Glebe Road for a report of an assault. Right now, police said their investigation revealed a group of male suspects saw a man "who they believed was responsible for a prior unreported theft." SEE ALSO: Mom missing for a week among dozens of unsolved DC missing person cases "The suspects then physically assaulted the victim with what was reported as a bat and they subsequently fled the scene," ACPD said. Police searched the area for the group, but they have not yet been found.
