Guildford A-level student and family feared dead after flash floods in Nepal

An A-level student and his family are feared dead after devastating flash floods in Nepal. Spandan Sahu, from Surrey, was in Nepal with his father Santosh Sahu, mother Surabhi Manmath Padhy, and 13-year-old sister. The 18-year-old had just finished his A-levels at Royal Grammar School, Guildford, and was preparing to study philosophy, politics and economics at university, according to his LinkedIn page. The death toll in Nepal stood at 547 as of Friday afternoon, with more than 900 people currently missing. China has confirmed the death toll in Tibet has risen to five, with 558 people unaccounted for, though it is not clear if the latest figures overlap.
