Hawaii island man charged with murder in Saturday shooting

Tuesday, September 22, 2026 84° Today's Paper Today • Last updated 10:21 a.m. HILO >> Hawaii island police have charged a 49-year-old Pahoa man with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a 41-year-old Keaau man Saturday night in the Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision. Bryant Scott Ramos Guevarra was also charged Monday with reckless endangering, use of a firearm in the commission of a separate felony, and illegally carrying a handgun and ammunition. His bail was set at $1.823 million and he is scheduled to make his initial appearance today in Hilo District Court.
