He fatally shot a man in a wheelchair, and now he’s going to prison

A jury has found a man guilty in the fatal shooting of a person in a wheelchair. Shaheed Hall, 36, of Newark, was convicted of first-degree murder and two second-degree weapons offenses on Friday, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a Monday statement. After the verdict, he also pleaded guilty to being a repeat offender and certain persons not to possess a weapon. Hall was accused of shooting 50-year-old Deshaun Winston on Osbourne Terrace in Newark on April 28, 2024.
