MOUNT ULLA, N.C. (WBTV) - A hero dog is credited with saving a Rowan County family from a devastating house fire that injured three firefighters early Wednesday morning. The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at a home along Hinsdale Avenue near Highway 801 in Mount Ulla. The family dog reportedly alerted everyone inside to the fire, allowing them to escape before flames quickly overtook the home.
