Paul Sokoloski, 57, was known by those around him as a skilled emergency room doctor, a passionate pilot and, most notably, a good man. Sokoloski, a Hershey resident who worked as a doctor in the Penn State Health system for more than 25 years, died Wednesday after his Cessna plane collided with a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter performing a training exercise at Carlisle Regional Airport. “Paul was one of the most caring, outgoing and genuinely kind men I have ever had the privilege of knowing and working beside,” Amanda Lozinksi, a friend and colleague of Sokoloski, told PennLive. Two state police helicopter pilots, Cpl. Corman and Trooper Jason Mills, were injured in the crash but both are expected to make full recoveries. Sokoloski has been an emergency physician since 1999, according to his LinkedIn profile.
