Holey Land wildfire in northwest Broward burns 4,900 acres and is 20% contained

A wildfire burning in far northwestern Broward County was 20% contained as of Thursday evening, according to the Florida Forest Service. The Holey Land wildfire is located near the Broward/Palm Beach County line, south of the Holey Land Wildlife Management Area in far western Palm Beach County, according to the forest service’s map . It has burned a total of 4,900 acres, or about 8 miles, so far. It is the only active wildfire in South Florida as of Thursday. Earlier this month, the Atlantic wildfire near the border of Coral Springs and Tamarac burned a total of nearly 6,000 acres before it was fully contained.
