FARGO — A 36-year-old Horace man sustained life-threatening injuries after his Harley-Davidson motorcycle crashed into a compact SUV early Sunday morning near downtown Fargo. It happened at about 4:14 a.m. at the intersection of Main Avenue and University Drive, according to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol. According to the release, A 61-year-old Fargo man was driving a Subaru Forester west on Main Avenue in Fargo, approaching the intersection of University Drive. The Subaru's traffic signal turned green so the driver proceeded through the intersection. At the same time, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on University Drive, approaching Main Avenue.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and was critically injured. He will be charged for driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia. The intersection was closed for nearly three hours as troopers investigated.
