Hurricane Marie moisture to bring storms, heavy rain to Utah

Gusty southwest winds will continue through the weekend, with the strongest winds generally near and west of I-15. Many areas will see gusts of 25 to 35 mph, while some locations could approach or exceed 40 mph. The big change comes Sunday morning as tropical moisture from Hurricane Marie moves north into Utah. This will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain and flash flooding becoming a concern, especially across central and southern Utah. Northern Utah could also see a few stronger storms capable of producing strong winds, hail and frequent lightning by Sunday afternoon and evening.
