Hundreds of family members, friends, and community members gathered at Marion Kirby Stadium at Page High School to honor the life of Davion Fewell, a 15-year-old who passed away one week ago after suffering a fatal head injury during a JV football game. Lenwood Brooks, Davion’s grandfather, shared how prayer and staying close to one another have helped the family cope during this difficult time. "I'm so glad to have been his paw paw for 15 years," Brooks said. Brooks described the loss of his grandson as devastating but emphasized the importance of unity and faith. "We're just trying to make it through, prayer, sticking together, loving one another," he said. Coaches and teammates also shared memories of Davion, highlighting his determination and effort on the field. "No matter if he was doing the workout right or wrong, he gave it his all; he was determined to do it right," said one of his coaches. Davion will remain in the minds of many Page Pirates Friday when they take on the Southern Guilford Storm.
