INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - Police have identified the pregnant woman who died with her unborn child after being hit by a vehicle in Independence Saturday evening. The woman’s year-old son was also injured during the crash. The Independence Police Department said 31-year-old Allison Ortegano and her toddler were struck Saturday around 8:40 p.m. near the intersection of Walnut and Dodgion streets. According to investigators, the driver of a Jeep lost control, hit several parked vehicles, and struck the pregnant Ortegano and her young son.
