Inmate accused of killing corrections officer found dead in Nashville prison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An inmate accused of stabbing a corrections officer to death earlier this year has been found dead in a Nashville prison, officials confirmed. According to the Tennessee Department of Correction, Reginald Steed was pronounced dead at approximately 12:40 a.m. at the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution on Tuesday, Sept. Steed— who was serving a 27-year sentence for aggravated assault, especially aggravated robbery, and attempted voluntary manslaughter—reportedly stabbed Officer Dustin Pedigo multiple times at the Morgan County Correctional Complex on Feb. For his connection to Pedigo's killing, Sneed was charged with first-degree murder.
