Jaguar F-type appeal after shooting of man in Gainford

Police investigating the shooting of a man have appealed for information about a soft top sports car which was found dumped. A 46-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition after shots were fired at a house on Balmer Hill, in Gainford near Darlington, at about 20:10 on Saturday. Durham Police are trying to piece together the movements of a red F-type Jaguar cabriolet with a black roof which was seen in the south of the county between 12:00 and 21:00 BST on Saturday. The car, which has the registration MM13 KCC, was found abandoned in Witton Park having earlier been seen in Crook, Willington, Bishop Auckland, Newton Aycliffe and Gainford. Anyone who saw the car on Saturday was asked to contact the force.
