Jesus Acosta arrested, charged with murder after NYPD manhunt in 2 shootings in Bronx, Brooklyn

MELROSE, The Bronx (WABC) -- The man wanted in connection with two deadly shootings days apart in New York City was arrested Saturday. The NYPD said 31-year-old Jesus Acosta was taken into custody Saturday morning following a dayslong manhunt and was charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder. When asked 'did you do what they say you did?' Acosta's only response was 'God is good, God is great.' Police say Acosta was found at a park on Watson Avenue and Morrison Avenue right near the precinct, after an anonymous 911 call. Police had been searching for Acosta in connection with shootings at a restaurant in Brooklyn and a bodega in the Bronx that left two people dead and another man injured. The first shooting happened at American Best Wings and Pizza in Brownsville, Brooklyn, on Sunday.
