Kansas highway worker killed after pickup crashes into I-135 work zone outside Salina

One highway worker was killed and two others were injured Tuesday morning after a pickup truck crashed into a group of workers along Interstate 135 outside Salina. The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 9:45 a.m. on northbound I-135 in Saline County. The crash report states a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 left the roadway for reasons that remain unclear, striking a parked vehicle in a construction zone before spinning into a guardrail. The pickup then rolled into a grassy area, where it hit seven highway workers.
