Kennedy announces $219.5 million for Louisiana hurricane, storm recovery

MADISONVILLE, La. – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.), a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced $219.5 million in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) aid Louisiana communities recovering from Hurricanes Barry, Delta, Francine, Ida, Isaac, Katrina and Laura, saltwater intrusion and the Severe Winter Storm Fern. “Louisiana has been through more than its fair share of natural disasters, but our people never stay down. This $219.5 million will help communities across our state repair schools and critical infrastructure, cover recovery costs and better protect Louisianians from future disasters,” said Kennedy.
