Las Vegas mother dies weeks after boyfriend burned, shot her

Nichole Drummond, 47, died Sunday from thermal injuries and a gunshot wound to her right leg, online records showed. Her death was ruled a homicide. A mother who was burned and shot by her boyfriend after her daughter was killed inside their home last month has died from burn injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department and Clark County coroner have confirmed. Authorities previously said Drummond was taken to the hospital after her boyfriend, Jason Simmons, chased her with a blowtorch and fired shots inside their southwest valley home on Aug. Drummond’s 14-year-old daughter, Aven , was also inside the home.
