Las Vegas police hunting for e-bike-riding shooter of off-duty officer

The Metropolitan Police Department released photographs and video of a suspect in the shooting of an off-duty corrections officer in the west Las Vegas Valley. Still photographs and video released Wednesday show that a male wearing a half-style helmet, dark green jacket, dark pants and a face covering rode a black electric bicycle through a parking lot on the 7600 block of West Cheyenne Avenue, near North Buffalo Drive, before opening fire and striking the off-duty officer. The Metro officer, who has yet to be identified, was transported to a local hospital and underwent surgery, police said. As of Tuesday afternoon, the injured officer was in stable condition, according to a news release. The Metropolitan Police Department said dispatchers received a 911 call shortly after 10 a.m. from a man who said he had just shot his parents in the 1600 block of East Rochelle Avenue. A suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting nearly three months ago in a neighborhood near downtown Las Vegas.
