A Texas couple died Thursday after their small plane crashed near the George R. Carr Memorial Airport in Bogalusa, authorities said. The plane crashed around 10:50 a.m., killing William “Bill” Day, 68, and his wife, 69-year-old Tommie Day, according to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office. The couple died at the scene. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, an independent federal agency that determines the probable cause of civil aviation accidents.
