Louisiana social worker stabbed, killed in attempted murder-suicide would 'always give everything'

Faun Reese always put other people before herself, family members say. So they weren’t surprised when she went into social work, receiving her master's degree from LSU in 1997. “She was a caring person,” said Reese’s younger sister Heidi Candler. Now her family is left grieving her death: Reese, 54, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend Garry Miles, 66, who police say fatally stabbed her in the neck and then attempted suicide by taking sleeping pills. Officers found the two side by side on the bed in their apartment on Aug. Candler wants people to know that Reese is more than just a victim — she was a sister, a helper and a person who went above and beyond for the people she cared about.
