‘Lying to my face’: 2 Portland customers sue CenturyLink — and win — over promise to never raise internet rat
OregonLive.com reports: Southeast Portland resident Phillip Stickney says that when CenturyLink told him it was raising his home internet service bill by $10 a month in late 2024, he knew that wasn’t right. Five years earlier, he said, he’d locked in a $65 per month rate, in what the internet provider called “Price for Life.” But after spending hours on the phone with three different representatives — all of whom told him he was mistaken, that the company never offered a “Price for Life” promotion or it wasn’t offered to him in Oregon — Stickney said he knew CenturyLink was “lying to my face.” Stickney sued.
