Magic City Classic ‘a cherished tradition’ that will survive deadly shooting, supporters say
Source Scout · AL.com reports: The fatal shootings outside Legion Field after the Magic City Classic wounded the community, but should not overshadow the value of the historic HBCU event or its place as a Birmingham tradition, supporters say. “You cannot police hatred, violence, or evil intentions out of someone’s heart,” said Apryl Stringer, a Classic fan who attended the event. “The mayor cannot change that, and neither can the police department. People must be held accountable for their own actions.” Support for the Classic remains strong, with supporters vowing to continue supporting residents and victims of the tragic weekend shootings .
